The Academic Job Market is a
common source of anxiety, and is notable for the relative lack of clear
information available to job candidates. Join UChicagoGRAD for a discussion of
best practices for job documents, with a focus on the CV and Academic Job
Market Cover Letter. Whether you are an alum, current student, or postdoc, this
presentation will help demystify the process of creating the most
commonly-requested documents for academic positions at diverse institutions.
A-J Aronstein is Associate Director of Graduate Career Development and Employer Relations at UChicagoGRAD. In this capacity he manages the four-member graduate career development team and works with cross-campus partners to support the career goals of graduate students and postdocs. As a Lecturer in the Humanities Division, he teaches a master’s level course on the value of humanistic inquiry in multiple contexts. A-J received a Master’s Degree in the Humanities from the University of Chicago and a BA in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia.
